Some of our members (led by Cheryl and Heather) have decided to have a swim at the State Aquatic Centre at the same time (9.30am) – this will not be a Club session and there wont be a coach – there will however be a program to follow and some good company. So if you cant do without your Monday swim just meet on the pool deck at the SAC.

Interclub 1 results
Well done to all those members who competed – some amazing results – congratulations to Ian Young for his National record in the 100 metre butterfly.

Interclub 1 report
A good team effort from the 18 people who came to swim, saw us finish in 3rd place overall. If not for a few DQ’s we might have come in 2nd. One was in the coaches relay team where 3 people swam their legs whilst our 4th unnamed swimmer, was all cosy and warm watching from the stands. Every swim counts so the more people we have doing events the better we go.

We had our share of national and state records again. Ian Young swam a national record in the dreaded 100 fly in 1:11.65, a great effort for someone heading off to the world championships in Italy next month. Good Luck Ian we wish you all the best. Barbara Pearce set state records in all 3 swims for the day, in the 25, 50 and 100 backstroke in the 75-79 yrs, whilst Mike Gray also set a state record of 1:34.12 in the 100 Back in the 70-74yr division. Our 280+ 100m medley relay team of Mike, Jan, Ian and Di also took the state record.
We also have 8 swimmers Ace, Gavin, George, Mike, Robyn equal with Maryanne, and Barb equal with Di sitting in first place in the individual point score for the series. These points will continue to accumulate over the 4 event series.
Our new younger brigade also swam very well with some fast times posted by Gavin, Ace, Jason and Brad.
The next event is at our home pool the SAALC, so it would be great to have a big turnout to try break the dominance of Adelaide and Atlantis. Entries can be forwarded to Robyn either at training (before the 16th as I will be away) or by email any time now till 18 May.
